It was time for all of my sisters and families to be at Mom and Dad's for Thanksgiving this year. Since The Blacks were able to come from Mississippi and we were not for sure if we would see them again for Christmas, we decided to have Christmas the day after Thanksgiving! It was a very good time. We girls woke early and went shopping for a couple hours. Dad fixed a big breakfast which was delicious after being out in the shopping craziness! Mom spent the rest of the day in the kitchen cooking and I don't know what the rest of us did. I know I tried be Kevin's partner in Rook, but my mind wasn't in the game... nothing new there and we lost, of course! Sorry, dear. Mom let the kids open a few fun gifts thoughout the day, which kept them occupied pretty well. I wasn't too cold outside, so they enjoyed playing with their new helmets on bikes and the playground that Paw- paw had set-up! We enjoyed Mom's traditional Christmas Pepperoni Bread which is always a favorite, MMM!!!good!! It was then time to open gifts which we always begin by quoting the Christmas Story from Luke 2. It is exciting when the children start quoting it along with us as they grow older. I think all of us received many wonderful and wished for gifts. The guys got suits, Hannah and I got sewing machines and Leah and Sarah, Pampered Chef pots and pans! Nice! Dad got a gun and driver. Mom got a nice picture and small gifts. Anna Grace screamed with delight over her little loveable bear builder machine! The rest of the kid's got lots of fun toys and nice clothes. We had fun that night playing pictionary. We always hate to say goodbye, but cherish the memories we made.
